5 Mini Quadcopter Drones under $25
TOYK Drone – 2.4Ghz 6-Axis Gyro 4 Channel Quadcopter
The TOYK Drone
is a mini drone, small enough to play with indoors. The drone looks good with a blue body, and 4 black propellors with guards to protect them. There aren’t separate landing legs, just a post under each propellor.
Being a small drone it doesn’t have a long flying range, only 30-50 meters but it does have a 6-8 minute flying time which is average for these mini drones. You do get 2 batteries included so you get double flying time and you can charge them up with a usb charger which is included.
The features included on this little drone are quite good for the price of it. There is one key take off and land, useful when you are just learning and you also have headless control which means if you have a problem working out the front and back of the drone whichever direction it’s facing with this switched on the front is always the side facing away from you.
There is another help for beginners with the one touch return in case you feel it’s getting away from you or when you are running out of battery time and you have altitude hold which lets you hover your drone. As you get more experienced with the controls you can speed up the flight as you have 3 speed options and you can do some tricks with the 4D flips which will flip any direction you move the control lever. It also comes with LED lights so you have visibility to fly it in low light.
This is a great beginner drone at a reasonable price. Why not read our full review here.

Tenergy Syma X20 Mini Headless Quadcopter RC Drone
The Tenergy Syma X20
is another min quadcopter drone with a built in battery. This is 4 x 4 x 1 inch in size and it looks like a proper drone with blade guards to protect the propellors.
You get 5 minutes of fly time on one battery charge and the flying range is 20 meters which is the shortest of our mini drones. It does come with some beginner features but it is definitely geared towards children.
It has one button take off and land with headless mode so you don’t have to worry about the orientation of the drone. You also get the hover feature which is great at making you feel in control. You can still do 360 degree flips at the touch of a button so it’s just fun all around.
It comes with a small remote control that has more of a button control than a joystick, this doesn’t cause any issue for kids though. The biggest problem if you can call it that is the fact it takes about an hour to re-charge. If you want a simple starter drone, try this one.
